Marcus R. Gillon, DMD, MD is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, and patient-centered care. Born and raised in Statesville, North Carolina, Dr. Gillon earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from East Carolina University. He began his postdoctoral training with an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
Dr. Gillon continued his advanced training in Houston, Texas, earning his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Texas McGovern Medical School. He completed a General Surgery internship and an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, training across seven hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, including Memorial Hermann and Ben Taub General Hospital, both Level I trauma centers—where he gained substantial experience in complex trauma and critical care.
Dr. Gillon is trained in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery, third molar removal, orthognathic surgery, pathology, TMJ surgery, and maxillofacial trauma and reconstructive surgery. He also received comprehensive training in ambulatory outpatient anesthesia to ensure safe and comfortable surgical care for his patients.
His clinical interests include ambulatory anesthesia, dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, bone and soft tissue grafting, corrective jaw surgery, and facial trauma surgery. Known for his calm and compassionate demeanor, Dr. Gillon ensures every patient feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their treatment experience.
Dr. Gillon lives in High Point with his wife, Sarah, a nurse practitioner, and their daughters, Scarlett and Madelynn.
